Blogging...Is this really for me?

2017 was a very rough year for me. Throughout the year, I turned to two things in order to cope with my struggles:

1. My relationship with God

2. Anything Travel Related

Since I was a little girl I've always had a passion for traveling. I was fortunate enough to have parents who showed me that their is so much to offer outside of the Midwest! When I was young we took a few trips to the Caribbean, and these trips shaped my perspective forever.

I love reading different blogs on travel and seeing all of the cool things that other people experience. Since I have a bias towards the Caribbean, I love searching for things that are not touristy and learning about each island. I love the Caribbean because every island has a different vibe and so much to offer.

As I find joy in the blogs I read, I started thinking..."I should do something like this". I've traveled to a number of different locations and I have experiences that could inspire others to travel outside of their comfort zone. I could give them insight to some of the best experiences one could imagine. I love talking to people about their trips and about their own experiences, so why not share them through a blog?

Blogging is something that is totally out of my comfort zone. I had thought about this multiple times over the course of the past year but never thought I would act on it, however, this past week I was truly inspired by one of my colleagues. She is taking a class trip to Ireland, and she will be blogging leading up to and during her trip. As I read her first blog, I was inspired to take the leap of faith and try this blogging thing out. Checkout Katie's blog to see more about her trip: https://millerkatherine06.wixsite.com/mysite/blog/ireland-here-i-come

So, what I've gathered from the first 48 hours of blogging is that I really have no idea what I'm doing. I'm not the best writer in the world (which I'm sure my lovely brother will tell me about when he reads this post :)) and I have a lot to learn about this blog stuff! What I do know is that I am good at planning trips, searching for the best possible locations and experiences and sharing my own experiences with others. In the scheme of things, that's really all I want to do by starting this blog! If I am able to give one person a great experience or show them what else is #beyondthecorn (Thank you to my friend Chris & Chelsea for this tag haha) I am satisfied!

Thanks for reading! I hope you will continue to read about my adventures and feel free to reach out or comment when you have questions!

Love,
